Sorry... yes. Exactly. I'd wondered what the Google page was for... and I'd seen people saying 'Happy Bloomsday'... but no one had really spelled it out for me.
I'm not sure what rock I've been under, but I'd never heard of it before. ;)
i don't think you've really been under a rock. the only reason i know about it is because of a friend of mine whom i worked with when he was in high school. i liked him from the minute i saw him reading 'ulysses' on his break. so that's why i know about bloomsday!
it's a bigger deal this year,because the entire book takes place on june 16,1904 and so it's the 100th anniversary. i may read it myself someday. i did read two sentences from 'finnegan's wake' once...
