I'm not sure what rock I've been under, but I'd never heard of it before. ;)
i don't think you've really been under a rock. the only reason i know about it is because of a friend of mine whom i worked with when he was in high school. i liked him from the minute i saw him reading 'ulysses' on his break. so that's why i know about bloomsday!
it's a bigger deal this year,because the entire book takes place on june 16,1904 and so it's the 100th anniversary. i may read it myself someday. i did read two sentences from 'finnegan's wake' once...
