mon dieu, what's shakin'?
wow.
i turned on the news to get the weather and it wasn't on just yet,so i had my nose in a book. but my ears perked up when i heard the word 'earthquake' followed by 'quebec'. aha!
here's the deal. i worked the late shift last night and so i get out at midnight and generally go to bed around 2 a.m. anyway,i was sitting in my comfy chair last night reading when i realized i was shaking a bit. i thought it rather strange. i didn't feel like my blood sugar was low or that there was any other reason...
it did cross my mind that it might be an earthquake, but i kind of brushed off that idea. it did feel like it had the last time we had one though, but still i just thought it was my upstairs neighbor moving furniture or jumping around and shaking the building. it was kind of strange, and lasted for a few seconds.
anyway,i had completed forgotten about it. i thought it might just be some weird thing my body was doing...sometimes i have a few strange aches and pains that don't last and so i don't really pay much attention to them when it doesn't last long.
of course,i then had to check out internet sources and as it turns out there was a quake at 1:17 a.m. that was centered underneath the st. lawrence river in quebec, which is in a broad sense not that far from here.
bingo! that was it. i still am amazed that i can feel those things from so far away.
