yeah,i did it. it's been a tough week,a challenging day,and it ain't over yet. so i bought a pint.and i'll have to try to not eat chocolate from october 21 to november 21 to try to heal my system because it's not going to be easy to resist chocolate during christmas season...

mom's in the hospital and fortunately they are doing tests on her neurological stuff and there is supposed to be a social worker meeting with two of my sisters in a day or two to discuss the situation...we're hoping they will help us get mom the care she needs. at the moment her cough isn't too bad...apparently the inhaler medicine is helping her.
i wasn't sure if i'd get to see mom today as i had to grocery shop and get my car over to the garage and since i don't have anyone around to drop me off,i was just going to have to walk home after i dropped it off and i didn't want to do that after dark.granted it's only a mile away and i actually like walking sometimes, especially on a really nice day as it was today...sunny and crisp.but i have to watch the old legs since my injury last year.if my foot swells up,it's pretty serious since i can't stay in bed and actually take in nutrition due to my digestive ideosyncrasies...can't lie down for 4 or 5 hours after eating. and i've found by experience that if you sit with your leg elevated it kills your back...at least if you're semi-decripit like me.i get shin splints pretty easy these days, and a silly shin splint indirectly led to two weeks in bed last year, which led to taking ibuprofen, which led to wrecking my stomach, which has been bad since august of 2001,not that i'm taking note or anything! strangely,i have really strong legs...i dance as a hobby.but it's the muscles in the back of my legs that are strong...and shin splints occur on the front of the leg...och,it's kind of weird. i've also had varicose veins since i was fifteen and i've had circulation problems for a while.i've taken vit e in the past for pain and now i take horse chestnut extract capsules which keeps the veins stronger or something...my legs don't hurt as much.

anyway,my only older sister, lise, called me and said she was going to go to the hospital to visit mom with the twins after they got up from their nap and would i like to go along? that was a great idea because i don't like driving in places i'm not familiar with after dark, which it would be on our way home.also, since she had to swing by to pick me up,she could pick me up at the garage so i could leave my car there.terrific!

so we visited mom and emily wanted to sit next to grammy in her hospital
bed...emy likes to sit next to grammy when she visits. i still have trouble telling emily and abigail apart.if they are sitting still...like in their car seats!...i can tell because abby's face is slightly rounder than emy's. my sister dresses them in different colors too,not that she has any trouble telling them apart. as we were driving along,i was impressed that she could tell who was talking to her from the back seat..but of course she's their mother!
mom isn't happy to be in the hospital of course, but i hope they get some answers this time. from her window,i could see the church that she and dad got married in. my baby sister sara can see the church from her apartment, which is on the other side of the church!
sara asked me how i was doing living alone, and i said, well, actually i love it. sara said she'd be lonely without her cat. but i'm pretty happy by myself so far.

it was good to bond with my sister lise on the drive because we had a big fight by email a couple of months ago and yeah,we kind of got over it,but still it's nice to make those connections stronger. as we were driving home, she asked if i remembered the winter we travelled together to work and we'd be tired and wished there was a conveyor belt instead of a road to drive on to take us home! it was kind of gloomy..it'd be dark in the morning on the way to work and dark on the drive home.

i was more than ready to come home because all i could think of was that well deserved pint in my freezer, but
we stopped for supper because of course everyone was hungry. it's often a challenge to find something to eat at a restaurant,so i had an ungrilled tuna roll, which was good.
