this just in from my sardonicly funny sister rachel,who's soon going to be teaching her first college course (my little sister? whoa,makes me feel old,but after all,she IS 34.)

So, anything in particular you'd like for Christmas? I know you're ga-ga over Lord of the Rings, I would be myself but I hadn't had time to really think about going to the movies (another total irony, hmm?) I have two more applications to finish and I really need to work on lecture notes. I had all these questions for Michael this week about class structures and requrements, and he's like, do whatever you want..it's called academic freedom. Amazing. I can make them all read my thesis if I want to. I can use whatever materials I want. Amazing. No one watching over you. Pretty cool!
