wastin' time,sittin' still
had a snow delay on my lunch with dad today. he called to ask how things were here and i told him we only got two inches and he said that that's all they got there too, which is surprising because they usually get more snow west of here.
anyhow,he said he wasn't nervous about driving other than the other nuts on the road. but i don't think anyone will be sliding around today...they're just isn't much snow and people around here know how to drive on snow if they know how to drive at all (which, incidentally, they don't) so i don't think it's more dangerous than any other day, which isn't saying much but anyhow!
so he's picking me up for lunch at 1 instead of 12:30 and i'm getting ravenous. lunch is usually my first meal of the day,and i got up early because the snow plow is here. ah,me,what tragedy.
i took the time to make a couple of calls i needed to so that's two things off my to-do list! i try to make myself feel good by writing things on my to-do list that i'll probably have to do anyway and then i feel great crossing them off the list.
listening to syd straw's 'string of pearls' which i love because it's a great song but my favorite part is the michael stipe harmony on it. i love his voice anyway, but it really sounds great on this plus he sings with more of a southern twang than usual and it totally suits the song. he even sounds good when he hums. mmmm...
gonna listen to it for the third time in a row. my poor neighbors!
luckily the one who lives right next door on the side where i have my stereo is kind of deaf which is good when i'm playing music but not so good when she is. fortunately, she listens to u2 a lot. how lucky am i?
