(i have no idea what this song is about, but i love it anyway)
i'm in a happy hyper mood at the moment (as opposed to a disturbing hyper mood which has to be 'grounded' by food because it's too overwhelming).
which brings me to this entry's topic:
a.d.d.
which i prefer to call 'attention difference'
just because one's way of being differs from what those in power (the dominant paradigm,i guess) want it to be,it gets called a disorder...well,it's a disorder of THEIR court,i guess. but i shouldn't get too much into us vs. them thinking here, even though it's very easy to fall into.
anyway, after getting completely frustrated lately being torn because i don't 'get enough done'
(that is,of what i'm 'supposed' to be doing, according to some as opposed to what my daimon/muse and i want to be doing) i went back to researching a.d.d. to look for some ways of dealing. and i found this on on an a.d.d. community, many of which i really relate to!
You Know You Have ADHD When:
(by Daniel Amen)
It takes four alarm clocks going off for an hour to get you up in the morning.
You are ready to go somewhere 30 minutes ahead of time and you still leave late.
Even you can't read your own handwriting.
You read the paper, put on your makeup and talk on the phone, all at the same time - while driving.
Your desk, room, and book bag look like the leftovers from a nuclear bomb test.
You take a stimulant and your mind calms down.
You take a stimulant at bedtime and you feel relaxed enough to go to sleep.
You try to listen to your partner at the same time you are reading a book and watching television.
You are making love and all you can think about is mowing the lawn.
You incessantly tease the pets.
Your piles have children.
You are addicted to struggle but worn out by the struggle.
You start your day with a worry.
The first day of school you were out of step with others
learning to read,
learning times tables, Algebra, a foreign language,
going away to school,
writing papers,
getting projects in on time.
