wanting to give the world a hug

knock down the old grey walls/be a part of it all

i'm sitting here listening to 'no matter what' by badfinger and that is such a wonderful embracing the world song. but when i look through my cds,it's not easy to find music to enjoy my good mood by.* is that true of music in general, do you think? or can you recommend any good celebratory songs or bands or albums?

*a good mood is something i cherish...it's not my typical mood.

Actaully a french friend sent me Divine Comedy... Then told me Billy liked them after i started listening to them... they are a little like the beatles only more modern ...

Travis is good to ... they are scottish .. kinda like Dave only less stoned lol...

Emo= Emotional ...

It's like dash board confessions, David Gray, Travis, Dave , Hootie and the Blowfish, stuff like that... lyrics that try to sound intellegent...
yeah... there ya go...

not so emo music? that's a tough one...well, there's the Beatles, of course...I think Simon and Garfunkel is often kind of calming and hopeful...and Grateful Dead music often makes me happy, as does Jethro Tull and Rusted Root. but Rusted and Tull both have an edge to some of their stuff, at least lyrically. I think Joni Mitchell's stuff is inspiring but she's not always very cheery.

I guess most of my music is kind of emo or protesty, too.

um...I think of them as the same kind of thing...but I'm not an expert on the real genre of Emo music. *shrug*
