birds and birthday greetings
cool. heh. heh.
(did i get that from beavis or butthead?)
i got lots of lovely birthday greetings this morning from my lj friends. thank you!
this morning i heard a cardinal singing 'purty purty purty'. my mom used to get annoyed with hearing a cardinal in the morning. i like it. i'm not so fond of the sound that squirrels make though. it seems to me that a few years ago i used to hear a cacaphony of birds in the morning in the spring. either there aren't as many birds around or i sleep through it these days. i used to work a day job so i was awake earlier. i hope there's still lots of birds around. i think i saw an oriole the other day. i don't ever remember seeing one of those around here. every once in a while i see a bluejay, but they stay pretty much out of sight. i can hear them a lot though! i rarely see cardinals, but again i hear them a lot.
i felt like getting up early today as i'd like to have time to go to the library before i have to stay home and wait for the plumber between 1 and 5. i have a craving for some biography and some love poetry! also,i might be able to pick up my package at the post office that they tried to deliver yesterday but i was still in bed at 10:30. it's from my sister lise and her family, and it's probably a polo-style shirt as she had asked me what i wanted and i never have a birthday list, but i usually try to suggest something, and i wouldn't mind having another nice shirt for work. if i could wear t-shirts to work,i would though. i'm a t-shirt and jeans kinda gal.
i'm going to go to the library in the next town over. they have more money in that town and a better selection of books. i always head for the new non-fiction shelves first. yummy.
my youngest sister/good buddy sara is coming over tonight to eat supper with me and sing happy birthday to me...right sara? (*waving to
solarfields* i've just introduced you to my lj friends...hope you don't mind.)
sara is very cool. i love her bio except for the last part, because she doesn't give herself enough credit for her current coolness.
it's a beautiful green outside my window. lush. i can hear someone washing their car outside i think...you know, water from a hose sounds.
now i'm going to go eat second breakfast.
