curious diane
well,in order to cheer myself up,i figured i would try to get some things DONE.
i called the doctor's office to get refills on the two drugs i take: nexium and wellbutrin. check.
i called to see if i could get a haircut around 6:30. unfortunately, no. but if i could make it before 5...
fortunately i found a couple of pairs of pants at the thrift store.
unfortunately,on the way,my car started making a funny noise, like something was in my hubcap on the back passenger side. i looked but couldnt see anything.
fortunately,i was in town and not far from the garage where i get my car repaired.
unfortunately,it turns out there was a bolt that had stuck into my tire. fortunately,i got the patch and seal thing done...what do they call it? so it's fine.
unfortunately,that costs $15.
fortunately,it only cost $15.
then i went to the library. unfortunately i couldn't find anything about william morris and the arts and crafts movement.
fortunately,i was able to get my hair cut as i got there before five.
unfortunately,i then went to the supermarket and bumped into the friend who i work with who was going to be covering for me this week and keep the place from going to hell, and found out he had to be out this week due to some family matters. so i have no idea how bad things will be when i get back to work next week and unfortunately knowing there's hardly anyone doing your work while you're gone makes it more of a challenge to actually enjoy your vacation.
fortunately, the store was well stocked with ben and jerry's.
unfortunately,i didn't resist the urge to buy some and will eat a pint later.
self-medicating with food is not the answer. oh,well.
i'm having a hard time with my positive attitude today.

well, anyway, i totally agree on the b&j self-medication choice!! (hell, at frequent sale prices of $2 and $2.50/a pint, i wish it could just be my meal a day!! :D )

wellbutrin is the same as the stuff used to quit smoking...zyban. but it's also used as an antidepressant and is a mild stimulant. well, you probably know that.i was severely depressed. right now i'm doing pretty well on either the season (though i have gotten depressed at any time of the year) or the mind stuff i've been working on,and, well, focusing on God more. the wellbutrin made me feel 'normal'...more resilient-for about five months, and now doesnt really do anything as far as i can tell,as i was very depressed in april and part of may,i think. i'm going to research withdrawal and then consult my doctor...if i'm going to get off of it,it would probably be easier in summertime.
i dont know about kicking the ben and jerry's habit though...i'll bet no one's ever done it! : p

oh riiight, zyban...
(yea i didn't want to assume you were taking it for depression, could've been just to stop smoking :) )
i get extra depressed during the winter, which factored in to my moving back down to florida from wester NY...
but also, last may, we had a horrible rainy season, and that dipped my depression down too... i had to have my meds increased to accomodate for it...
hm, i am glad you are going to talk to your doctor. i'm concerned that your response to it not working is to stop it! if they helped you before, you might just need an increase... believe me, i am the first person to try alternative meds for *everything*, but having tried to go off my meds before when i was doing *well*, and then crashing several months later, well, i have to say, they really work for me.
good luck whatever you decide with your doc! *hug* :)

heehee, me neither!

anyway,we'll see. for now,the mind exercises and philosophy i'm studying are helping,i think, and this is the time to do it...when i can. it's hard to improve your brain functioning once you're already deeply depressed.
anyway,i wont' dwell on that,as i'm grateful to be doing okay now.
