i found god

she was at the end of the credits to 'jay and silent bob strike back'.

anyway, what does it say about me that i found 'jay and silent bob strike back' more uplifting than 'amelie'?
i wonder if it has to do with the fact that i didn't have high expectations for the former but did for the latter?

i love silent bob,but jay really annoys me...preoccupation with sex, poor and unimaginative language, and stupidity...three things i can live without. but the balance is tipped because jason lee is also in the movie.i especially love jason when he has a beard. he looked great in vanilla sky, though his beardless character was really sweet in 'mumford', a movie that i'm sure very few people even know exists.
anyway,'jay and silent bob...' was funny.

'amelie' was more serious than i thought it would be. i didn't think the character of amelie was supposed to be so sad,but she was pretty sad.
she was pretty cute...amazingly dark eyes. i loved her apartment. there are so many great houses and apartments in movies. i need a set designer for my life!

it also annoyed me that in the end...and don't read any further if you havent' seen the movie and want to be surprised...she hardly knows this cute guy,and they don't even speak, but they just jump in the sack and then they're in love.of course i can't relate to that.like some people need to get laid, what i often need is a good conversation.

surprisingly i had not one but two interesting conversations yesterday at work. cowabunga! it felt great.

I found Amelie to be just nauseatingly cute... Disgustingly so, even.

I like Jean-Pierre Jeunet... Delicatessan rules!

But the cuteness factor really bugged the hell out of me here...

As for her jumping in the sack with that guy at the end... Well, what can you expect these days? We all want instant gratification in our movies, in our television, in our music, and in our lives... Yeah! Why work for anything?

I gotta admit, I enjoyed Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back more than I thought I would (laughed out loud several times...very unusual for me); in fact, I got dragged to it a second time and still enjoyed it! Yep, Jay is annoying but I think he's supposed to be annoying.

I *loved* her apartment too.

Though yes, she IS sad (and rightfully so, with whackjob parents like that), she does bring joy to a lot of lives, and in the end, finds joy in her own.

For me, 'Amelie' was a touching and magical film. Nothing to do with the happy ending. It's aesthetically beautiful and the characters were grotesque yet endearing. Amelie herself may seem too weird to be true, but I share many of her quirks, so I beg to differ... All in all, it was a wonderful bitter-sweet tale.

That was my favorite part of the film. that they had this romance that was built on gestures and actions, not empty words. i was afraid when they finally met they would shatter the whole dream-like quality of their romance with a bunch of empty conversing.

Really, what could they have said?

BTW; Noticed you added me to your friends list, so I will return the favor. Any particular reason you added me?
