This reminded me of a quote in a depeche mode song ("Blasphemous Rumors") "I think that God has a sick sense of humor." ...but really I quite like the idea of Him being behind the sofa. Perhaps He's under the cushions too? I'm reading "When Bad Things Happen to Good People", so quite fitting really. I like the eighth day theory, that we're in the eighth day of His creation, not yet perfected.I think the problem is that we're perfect but we don't know it so we do imperfect things to fulfill our own view of ourselves.
hey! i was just thinking of you! how cosmic! moonriver to solarfields, come in solarfields...
i think rachel said she was reading that too. i've influenced you two! no duh. and vice versa. i have already forgotten about the eighth day concept...but that reminds me,there was a really sweet french film called that and i wonder if that's where it comes from? funny,too...the subheading for my journal was not that long ago "8 days a week" from the beatles song of course.
from a nondualistic/advaita point of view,we ARE perfect. though perfection doesn't have to be unchanging. in fact,i think that would make it less than perfect. which is why i'm so intrigued by process theology.
ha. now depeche mode is starting to intrigue me...that's the same band that did 'personal jesus' (behind the sofa,of course,or under the bed with sunny the cat...)
lovely to get a note from you. have a good couple of days of rnr from 'hell'. i think 'hell' could use some reforms...
