(no subject)

just wrote a page in my paper journal. couldn't think of anything to write yesterday. the stuff i wrote today was just fluff. i realized i sounded like someone in junior high. omigod.

anyway,it's still doesn't make sense to me that i'm 45 years old,but technically that's how long i've been here.

i'm wondering if i'll hear the radio of doom tonight while i'm trying to fall asleep. i have a hunch it's my upstairs neighbor, because around the time i go to bed at night, around 2-2:30,i hear heavy footsteps upstairs. by the time i hear the radio, though,i'm usually in bed and i don't really want to get up and go outside to find out for sure where the sound is coming from.

i live in a condominium and according to the rules, people are in general supposed to be quiet from 10 p.m. to 10 a.m. in consideration of their neighbors. the walls are thin. if i hear the radio of doom again and can't sleep,i hope i bump into my neighbor who's the president of the condo association. i supposed i could just knock on her door, but i feel kind of shy about that. still,it's a thought. i want to ask her what she thinks i can do if this continues.

the other thought is to get used to it. and i should just get myself some earplugs anyway.

and for a non-sequiter:

i really liked a book called the haunted bookshop by christopher morley. i also read another of his books called parnassus on wheels. does anyone know anything about where the name parnassus comes from? i googled and i didn't have much luck.

I believe it comes from Mt Parnassus (or Parnassos) in Greece, which in Greek mythology was sacred to Apollo and the home of the Muses.
