i bought the soundtrack to amelie this week and i absolutely adore it...the music cheers me up and even makes me want to dance. and it evokes happy images. pretty damned good,eh?

i want to see the movie again because i want to really LOOK at it. the first time i saw i was busy reading subtitles.

overall,i was disappointed in it,and i'm not entirely sure why. it bothered me that she did things to make people happy but she also did some mean things to someone who was a mean person. sure,he deserved it,but this movie had the reputation as inspiring people to make the world a better place...which i think is overstating the movie a bit much.

i wonder if there are any discussion boards on this movie...i'd love to discuss people's views on this.

I really loved that movie. I found it very entertaining in a light, happy, make me smile kinda way. I didnt read too much philosophy into it. It was just entertainment to me. If you do find a board that discusses it though, let me know! I'd like to check it out.

I liked the music in Amelie alot too. Now that you are mentioning it.. I think I'm going to have to go pick up the soundtrack :-)
