bands i've seen live
i got the idea from
sophiaserpentia:
20 bands i've seen live:
u2 (the best show ever!)
r.e.m.(nine times from '83-'89)
'til tuesday
jason and the scorchers
the alarm
the pajama slave dancers
down avenue
the del fuegos
the butthole surfers
dinosaur jr. (then known as just 'dinosaur')
samhain
the new models(lots of times)
the neighborhoods (ditto)
james taylor
the pousette dart band
the dbs
the replacements (4 times)
the five o'clock heroes (lots of times)
incest repellant (ditto...my friend dave's band, and i hated the name)
sting (wish i'd seen the police instead though)
indigo girls
well, that's really 21,but i didn't want to leave out indigo girls. one of their shows was the second best (after u2,that i'd ever seen. and that's in a field that includes r.e.m.,who are an excellent live band.)
i thought it would be easier to make up this list, because i used to go out and see live music a lot during the eighties especially. there was a local club that had local bands, many from boston, which isn't too far away, plus the occasional touring band. and i went to see some hardcore punk bands with my friend dave sometimes too.
now i'm trying to remember the last live music i went to see. i think it was atwater/donnelly,who are a great duo who play celtic and appalachian folk stuff as well as their own originals. that was probably in 1998 or so.
