i dont' really want to be in love like in the movies,in spite of watching 'amelie' making me sad.i'd like a little sparkle in my life,but everyday sparkle.

i want someone to eat lunch with,someone to live with that i don't mind bumping into,someone to discuss the meaning of life and the universe with,someone to empathize with when i feel atheistic,someone to make me laugh and whom i can make laugh,someone who seeks solace in ben and jerry's like i do,someone who likes to be alone sometimes too,someone who can laugh at the fact that at least some people never really grow up on the inside if anyone actually does,someone who will love the good things about me and not get as perturbed about all my problems as i do...though i suppose that's asking for a saint,no?,someone who will not always agree with me and so will let me see different things,someone who will listen to what i have to say sometimes enough to change HIS mind.

do i ever get a chance to get what i want?

You weren't describing Mr. Perfect, just someone one can share his life with. Being all those things doesn't mean that he won't have some behaviours and opinions which will annoy you from time to time. But those can be dealt with.

As much as I am a romantic comedies addict, I don't believe in one true soulmate ("I've known too many soulmates..."). There are many people who fit that description. Just have fun, enjoy your life, and you'll bump into one of them eventually.

we all want to have a meaning to others or at least we want to mean something to someone...but what we get or do is using each other...it's a mess this way

i haven't seen anyone with a perfect relationship,but i have seen relationships that are about a healthier kind of love than is usually considered 'love'. and i've had a small taste of it myself,so i know it exists. for me,i felt that kind of love in the microcosm of a friendship with a guy with whom i wouldn't want to live with...we want far different things and yet that love is there and it's a nice thing.
