smooinaghey

[livejournal.com profile] sophiaserpentia got this from [livejournal.com profile] sermoa and i thought it was worth passing along:

Aoccdrnig to a rscheearch at Cmabrigde Uinervtisy, it deosn't mttaer in waht oredr the ltteers in a wrod are, the olny iprmoetnt tihng is taht the frist and lsat ltteer be at the rghit pclae. The rset can be a total mses and you can sitll raed it wouthit porbelm. Tihs is bcuseae the huamn mnid deos not raed ervey lteter by istlef, but the wrod as a wlohe.

this might explain why i can read stuff in lallans (lowlands) scots, which is related to myddel anglysh, even though i only know a few words in scots. languages r kewl. (though i must say i'm quite prejudiced against aol/chatspeak!)

edit: smooinaghey is a manx word meaning 'think, reflect'.
this entry brought to you by the letter 's'.

That's so nifty! Is this the birth of a new LJ trend?

someone made the comment that most computer users can read it so well because we're used to reading each other's typos and i'm sure there's truth to that! :o) thank god people are able to sift through mine!
