(no subject)

today i'm an uber-oaf,as opposed to my normal everyday oafishness.

first,i lost a library book. hopefully,it's not lost forever. how the heck did i do that? it's don miguel ruiz's 'the four agreements' which i was just rereading.it's a small book,so maybe it's underneath my stack of newspapers and magazines on the coffeetable. next,i lost my library card. i usually lose it at the library by putting it down on a shelf while browsing and stockpiling my finds, but today i lost it somewhere between my apt. and my car. ah,well,it was just a dollar to replace it.

i bought a new shower curtain. they all are 'treated to repell mildew' and i think to myself 'treated with just what exactly?'. i bought one anyway, because they were all treated.
on the way out of the store, there were two adults and one kid standing there in the rain selling popcorn to raise money for the cub scouts. sometimes i politely say no,sorry, but today i bought three packages of microwave popcorn.the stuff doesn't appeal to me,but i've got a friend at work who loves that stuff so i'll bring them in for him.

unless my sister sara likes that stuff...

i've got a million dumb little household chores to do. i had to drano my shower this week, but now it's working beautifully. but now my sink's backing up. i live in a fairly new building and i have to do this a lot. i tried for the longest time to do the vinegar/baking soda thing and also tried natural enzymes but only the noxious chemicals seem to work. before i lived here i lived in an old old apt. that had been millworker housing and the plumbing was always fine, even though ants liked to crawl up the pipes sometimes.

it's been wet and humid for several days now. yuck. but things look pretty green. we certainly didn't have drought conditions this year,so that's good. the humidity makes me feel icky though. i think tomorrow the sun will be out and hopefully burn off all that humidity. that would be nice, because i'm planning to make the drive over to the nursing home for a long-overdue visit with my mother. i have no idea what i will do when i see her. it's so awkward. but i miss her too.

well, there's another snoozerama entry for ya. i think i might go quotation-hunting soon...

I hate losing library books. It's been a long time since that's happened. I can just hear the nickels clinging away into their cash drawer. Hope you find it soon.

I ordered a new shower curtain off the 'net earlier this year because my Mom kept complaining the one we had was unsightly. It's a motel-quality item and also suppose to repel mildew, etc...good looking curtain but they didn't warn me it was PVC, and because there was nowhere to hang it to let it cure, I just washed it (they didn't even wash off the factory dust before packaging it) and put it up- it stunk up the house for more than a week before getting its ya-ya's all out and settling down to the life of a normal shower curtain. Now a month or two later it's getting a little dirty along the bottom, so it fits right in with the general theme of the bathroom- ambient dirt.
I found you on my [livejournal.com profile] nafsdiwan account yesterday while transferring stuff (at long last) to my new account, [livejournal.com profile] kirwar4face- you had friended me and I had never got around to friending you back- with your permission I will now. ;)
