life can be murder

i got back to work yesterday after my vacation to find quite a few unpleasant surprises. and a pleasant one entitled 'songs to slit your wrists by'-the smiths. my friend derek made me a great smiths compilation.

here's my thank you email to him:

hi derek!
you are such a sweetie! i got back to work after my vacation, and it wasn't the happiest day in my life full of happy days, what with coming back to my territory having been totally messed with and my workspace out back in a jumble...but underneath the debris i found the cd you made for me,and i just had to laugh out loud! perfect timing! i'm glad we share the same dark sense of humor. wendy and kathleen thought it was pretty funny too.

you know,i've been thinking lately...i think i should marry morrissey. he'd be the perfect man for me.

well, hopefully i will see you for a fun-filled thursday tomorrow!

love,
di

did your cd have "that joke isn't funny anymore"?
its one of my favorites by the smiths but if you were near the edge, it sure would send you over

i like linkin park too. "crawling" makes me cry because the pain of it is just palpable. it also makes me cry because gherkin (my son) loves it and i think of him singing the lyrics, wondering how much of it is meaningful to him. it appears he likes music like i do and really gets into the songs. of course he likes the song "right thurr" so I try not to read too much into his tastes :heh:
