sniffle,but a good sniffle
i just watched a sweet and funny tearjerker called 'agnes browne'. it's set in ireland, and there's something about the irish sensibility that i relate to. there's a certain sadness.it's the appreciation for the little joys in life(and good music!), the camaraderie, and a certain brave fatalism that i find heartening. surely it's a generalization and not true of all the irish, but generalizations do contain truth.
mom has been watching elvis movies all day. is today his death anniversary? not to be heartless, but i could care less because i've never been an elvis fan.
i rented amelie AGAIN. i must admit i have a crush on the guy who plays nino,so sue me.
tonight i'm taking dad out to dinner for his birthday. my stomach isn't too good, but it rarely is,so i'm not sweating it. we're going to a restaurant that's one of dad's favorites. i'm not too fond of it because they have no veggie entries and they don't even have veggie appetizers! everything is heavy,so it isn't easy for me to be creative and find something to eat. haven't been there in a while, though,so i'm hoping by some miracle they'll have something i want to eat on the menu!
