hello from whoville
i just took out some garbage.wait til tomorrow when the crass commercialism of christmas makes itself visible! all around the dumpster for miles and miles...
anyway,grinch moment over.i had a nice day with family.three kids,ages 13,7 and 2,three out of four sisters (the other one is in pennsylvania;she and husband and two children were here for thanksgiving),one brother-in-law,mom and one friendly boyfriend.(not mine,my sister's).of course,as usual,i won trivial pursuit.i've been the family trivial pursuit empress for years.i even surprise myself sometimes when i pull answers out of thin air! ( i think that's what new agers called channelling;i like to think of it as inspiration!) today one question was what was the official name for the medal called 'the blue max" and without thinking i blurted out 'the congressional medal of honor' and then i thought about it and gave a second answer.well,to my surprise i was right the first time! ha.
we pretty much had our christmas day today since so many of us were together.mom gave me the socks and underwear that are pretty much on my christmas list every year.(saves me one more chore to do and i'm thrilled!)
it was fun seeing everybody,especially the kids.
my friend lisa emailed today and she is still waiting for her daughter to make her appearance in the world.mom told me my oldest sister,who was her first,was due on christmas day and didn't arrive until january fifth! i did not repeat this to lisa though!
working in retail,i have rarely over the years had christmas eve off.but i did this year because it's my regular day off and that worked out nicely since the family was here today.tomorrow my sister and her family are visiting the other side of the family.
so just a nice christmas.
