1969

just heard peter,paul and mary's version of 'leaving on a jet plane' on the lost 45's show,and it took me back...
///////////////////
i was in sixth grade in the fall of l969 and i used to sit in my dad's office in the afternoons before he got home from work at dinnertime,and listen to his radio. possibly,this was before my parents bought me a little transistor radio,which wasnt much bigger than a cell phone,or it was because dad's radio was bigger and sounded better.

a few years later,i began a big fan of the person who wrote that song,john denver,after hearing his 'sunshine on my shoulders',which was featured in a tv movie about a young hippie mother who was dying and left tapes for her baby daughter to remember her.

i've been a rabid music fan for a long,long time.
