1969
just heard peter, paul and mary's version of 'leaving on a jet plane' on the lost 45's show, and it took me back...

i was in sixth grade in the fall of l969 and i used to sit in my dad's office in the afternoons before he got home from work at dinnertime, and listen to his radio. possibly, this was before my parents bought me a little transistor radio, which wasnt much bigger than a cell phone,or it was because dad's radio was bigger and sounded better.
a few years later,i began a big fan of the person who wrote that song, john denver, after hearing his 'sunshine on my shoulders',which was featured in a tv movie about a young hippie mother who was dying and left tapes for her baby daughter to remember her.
i've been a rabid music fan for a long, long time.
