lovely day

mmmmm....nice day. i just took a nap,and naps are lovely and rare in my life. and open windows! and taking a nap near an open window! ahhhh....

and even nicer,my sister sara ([livejournal.com profile] solarfields) came over to hang out and join me on a couple of errands. going to buy a new filter for my furnace/ac ('cause it's gonna be in the 80's tomorrow-time to try out the ac already,dammit...) and buying groceries at the natural foods store. we also stopped at the dollar store and she found a vhs copy of wim wenders' buena vista social club,to her amazement.

i'm trying to get her hooked on band of brothers, but haven't succeeded yet. it's hard to tear her away from her beloved sean...hey,sara,there's enough love to go around,y'know! ha.

and of course,we always have very interesting discussions. she was remembering the time i took her to see raiders of the lost ark and i had no idea how scary it was going to be. she has apparently been scarred for life by the snakepit scene. sorry sara! and i always thought it was the 'ark' scene that was scary and was when i put my hand in front of her eyes...because that part scared me! i think she was about five and i was twenty-two.

digging out some of my old cassette tapes to listen to. i have a copy of ashley macisaac's cd that has 'sleepy maggie' (wherein ashley fiddles and rome burns mary jane lamond sings in scottish gaelic) on it which i must have copied from a friend's cd. yay! i'm sure there's all sorts of wonderful books and music i own and have forgotten about.

yeah, today's been a breath of fresh air...

I could probably so easily get hooked on Band of Brothers, but there's not enough of me to go around. I still have not seen half of Bean's movies, nor have I read some two-thirds of my book collection... I need an extra set of heads please!

I bet you weren't thinking "fresh air" when that windstorm blew through last night!
