it's a beautiful day in the neighborhood
it's a rainy green monday, with the ground drinking in the rain. a perfect day to stay inside and do something creative, which i think i will do.
i don't have an appointments, though i do have a few errands to do,but i'll also have a visit to the library on my trip which makes it fun. i want to get books about art, especially collage and folk art,and interior decorating, and a few other things. i'll also see if they have handel's 'hallelujah chorus'(which i think is maybe part of 'the messiah'?),as i've heard it's very inspiring, and i'm all about inspiration,in the giving and receiving, whenever possible.
i'm also having fun sorting through some old junk.found some stuff circa 1997 and 98. it's in layers, like an archaeological dig. i have things like old birthday cards, not all of which i'll keep.i wont' throw away any from mom-when i find those,i feel sad because i miss her,and her scribbly handwriting. i can't part from that connection with her.i found one from my sister michele, who's five years younger than me. we have a running joke about telling each other how OLD we each are. i enjoyed giving her a hard time when she turned 40! it all started on the day i turned 18...she left me a note on the bathroom mirror wishing me a happy birthday, and commenting on how very old i was-she was an almost 13 year old whippersnapper at the time. damn kids...
anyway, this one says 'remember, you're not just getting older...
[open card],
you're getting more valuable.' hee hee. you want some cheese with that wine? you got it.
