disgruntled and optimistic
this is a little blurb describing some video footage offerings on msn news:
What happens when Saddam Hussein is gone? How is President Bush remembering 9/11? And does the First Family actually have any fun at the White House?
here's my editorial comments.
it scares the hell out of me thinking of us starting a war with iraq.violence begets violence and we need diplomacy and we need to understand why other nations and cultures do what they do. i may be wrong about that being a useful approach.nevertheless,i'd like to know why dubya thinks he's the king of the world when he didn't even get elected president of the united states? must be divine right of PEOPLE WHO HAVE MONEY.
this whole remembering 9/11...it wouldn't be so bad if we had collectively LEARNED something and investigated into why it happened instead of just bombing a bunch of people and flying flags.i've gotten tons of magazines in huge quantities in at the newstand and the publishers of these 9/11 commemaratives are hoping to make lots of money on this stuff. in a way,it's heartening that few people are buying. but on the other hand, entire forests have been decimated to print this stuff. i can't believe the quantites of the life magazine special i received. it's horrifying when i think of the trees and i also have nowhere to put the damned things.
my heart goes out to the survivors of those killed in the attacks and the collapses of the buildings last year.
if they want to commemorate or have a memorial to their loved ones,i'm all for that. for remembering the PEOPLE,and not the acts.
and of course i don't really care if the bush family has fun in the white house. i'm too busy trying to survive to have much fun.
and i woke up in an optimistic mood this morning, and i still am though the headlines of air strikes over iraq did dampen it a little. an optimistic frame of mind is a little miracle for me.
so i'll shut up now and eat lunch!
