spring has sprung and i've got the perfect exhuberant soundtrack for it...which also happens to be the soundtrack from 'bend it like beckham'.
i saw that movie for the first time last week and absolutely adored it. i started watching it for a second time, but had to return it to the video store. mostly likely i'll buy myself a copy because it's definitely been added to my favorite movies list!
i really really liked a lot of the music,so i got the soundtrack this week. it's not the stuff i 'typically' like--some of it is what i'd call 'dance pop' and most of it is--what should i call it? i don't know about this stuff...is it indian-brit pop? great for happy dancing! judging by this and 'monsoon wedding' it looks like indian weddings are a blast! of course it could just be 'the movies',ya know?
my favorite song is 'inner smile' by texas, who i know are a british band and that's dance-pop. other favorites are 'independence day' by melanie c (was she one of the spice girls?) and 'darshan' by b21 which i think was played at the wedding. i'd call that indian-pop--i love the percussion in it. i thought 'darshan' was having an audience with a holy person, and i don't really see the connection to this song, but what do i know?
it's always nice to discover new things to love.
