well,it's not surprising i got the new england slang right, since i'm a new englander, but the 50% score on the prison slang is kind of disturbing. maybe i really paid attention to 'oz' when i was watching it. it's a great show, but i haven't watched seasons 4 or 5 because along with it being a great show with great characters,it's rather a bummer too!

Re: since i'm a new englander,
well, yes and no. i cross paths with lots of flatlanders (massachusetts) who have different accents than i do. but i do have some new englandisms...i drop a lot of r's,such as saying 'anotha' instead of 'another' and 'caa' for 'car',but actually,it's not as noticable with me as with other people i know. there also is an educational difference, but that's probably true anywhere. what some folks like to mock me most about is when i say 'idear' for 'idea' and it's just natural to me. we have to use the 'r' somewhere,i suppose. my parents also both had distinct traces of being french-canadian-american,but i don't think that shows up in my speech. my dad still says 'tings' instead of 'things'...
