drunk on a drug

had a weird and frustrating experience with clonazepam last night.
i took the stuff for the first time with my wellbutrin a couple of days ago and i was fine.(i think the two balance each other out.) but my dr. gave me a 2 week supply in case i had trouble sleeping while adjusting to the wellbutrin,as i just started taking it. i've been having insomnia for quite a few weeks...mostly the kind where you fall asleep okay but then wake up a few hours later and don't fall back to sleep or just fitfully off and on.

anyway, since i've been having the sleep problem and this stuff is supposed to help me sleep and i wanted to get a good night's sleep for a change,i took one an hour before bedtime. after a while i felt drunk, space, groggy and exhausted and i went to bed. and then....i woke up 3 hours later, which really pissed me off! how am i supposed to get a good night's sleep? and the pill making me feel drunk kind of disturbed me as well...maybe it did that because i was tired anyway, but even though i was tired that was no guarantee of sleep so that's why i took it.

anybody have any experiences with clonazepam?

I take clonazepam. If it makes you feel drunk, maybe the dose is too high for you. I don't remember how I felt when I first started taking it though.

I take clonazepam sometimes, I've been taking it, not very often, on and off a little over a year now. I know that sounds like a long time to be taking such an addictive drug, but trust me, I don't take it often... I'm not addicted. Actually, I take it so rarely that three bottles of 90 have lasted me a year, which BTW was only supposed to be a three month supply. Anyway, I don't remember ever feeling drunk on them. Trazodone is what made me feel drunk, blah... I hate those.
I think you're just getting used to it, or something. Or maybe your dosage is too high. My doc started me out on 0.5mgs, the standard starting dosage he said, but my insurance ran out before we had a chance to work out the dosage and raise it. I've worked myself up to taking 2.0mgs since then though and it works fine for me. Actually it works great. I take them for moments of anxiety though, not to help me sleep.
I say, just give your body time to adjust to them, maybe taking them with the wellbutrin has something to do with it. I dunno. Just keep trying them and hopefully they will work for you the way they're supposed too. Good Luck! :)
