whoville
i was friends with a tree that i used to eat my lunch under when i worked at the natural foods store. then one day they chopped it down to make room for the business next door to expand. i was really really sad,but the tree sent me a message that IT wasn't sad and it was fine and it was eternal. ah...
my sister sara was talking about a tree she loves and it reminded me of that.
my oh my it's october. wow.
last friday i watched the new doctor who, which i hadn't seen yet. actually,it was the last episode of the new who who then transformed into the even newer who. i love those whos in whoville. i'll bet you didn't know cyndy lou was a timelord,eh? anyway, the lastest incarnation, played by david tennant,is hilarious and snarky and perky and heroic. i want to find a boyfriend like that, only without the arrogance. then again,if you're a timelord, perhaps it would be excusable. oh,and the stories are well written too. now i can't wait until next week, and i wish i lived in england so i could just watch them on dvd. in any case, now that the red sox have retired for the season (i got all verklempt today a few times,as some of the players got curtain calls when leaving the field, quite possibly for the last time in a red sox uniform, and they did this montage thing with some good music of highlights of the season) i think i'm going to get netflix for a couple of months and watch last season's who and some other seasons of northern exposure besides the one i've got. i want to live in a place like cicely, alaska. they all have their own houses but they hang out together too. privacy and community...perfect.
and here's a couple of quotes i saved up to share...
love yourself for who you are,not who you one day hope to be.

tesseract!
The library here has a bog collection of Northern Exposure. I wonder if those are available for interlibrary loan? I'd love to live in a little sleepy community like that too.. where you can go home to be alone, but to be with people, all you have to do is walk to the corner store!
Oh.. I love the Erin Brockovich quote!
