learning to play the violin in public

(it looks that way when you're in love with someone,or the whole world, too!)
life is playing the violin in public and learning the instrument as you go along.

i love living. i have some problems with my life, but living is the best thing they've come up with so far.-neil simon
faith has been described,in high jump terms, as nothing more than throwing your heart over the bar...and letting your body follow.
pat croce
i just finished reading a sweet little book by pat croce called '110%'. here's what brad hooper of the american library association had to say about it:
Croce is the owner of the Philadelphia 76ers, founder of Sports Physical Therapists, Inc., and a motivational speaker. He follows his best-selling manual for developing a positive attitude, 'I Feel Great and You Will Too!' with another handbook for achieving peace of mind, this one based on the premise that "happiness comes from within, but sometimes we need help to coax it out." Croce presents 110 suggestions (one per page) for increasing happiness because, as the author posits, "happiness is one state of being where you are in control." His suggestions range from the rather obvious (get plenty of exercise); to the reassuring (set reachable goals); to the delightful (read!); to the unexpected (offer apologies when needed); to the provocative (check out the obituaries).

New Horizons
Re: New Horizons
honestly,i'm a bit confused because i'm not in any women's studies communities. i'm a nonfrilly girl who is fascinated by the male world (i love baseball for the game, but it doesn't hurt that i find men attractive and it's all guys except for some of the sports media)--possibly because my family is pretty female dominated.i grew up with four sisters and a gaggle of aunts!
although i did go through a time of exploring women's spirituality, like starhawk and some others. my favorite 'women's' book is barbara walker's 'the encyclopedia of myths and secrets'. i read it cover to cover and it blew my mind at the time!
so...i'm not sure if we have that much in common, but you are welcome to read my lj of course, and i thank you for your complimentary comments!
