aiming to find something workable i can actually do.

i don't feel like doing much,so i've got the football game on. i'm stuck in sims social because i don't want to pay for sim cash, and i need it to do much of anything besides shopping. i like to accomplish things, not just buy things. maybe to compensate for not accomplishing much,or lets just be kind to myself and say accomplishing things at an incredibly slow pace,in real life. and i can't shop much either, but i'm kind of used to that. and pretty okay. though i do need some things, like underwear without holes in it! but it's all relative. i'm not naked, just holey.

i wanted to watch the new sherlock but understandably the website is really busy so i will probably have to wait until tomorrow. and hope i don't get totally spoiled on tumblr, though i should be okay as long as i stay away from the sherlock tag,as i don't follow any really big sherlock fans at present.

i finished the giant hershey kiss my neighbor gave me for christmas. i managed to find a way to eat it by using a small fork to cut it. worked better than a knife, which just had chocolate shavings flying everywhere it shouldn't!

i got the folded flag my dad got as a veteran at his funeral. my sisters and i were the antithesis of greed when go through my dad's valuable things. my oldest sister wanted his wedding ring. i didn't want anything in particular except a small business card and case. we found five cards in the case...we're pretty sure dad saved one for each of us. that's how he thought! he worked in the post office but also had an accounting business as well, and was very busy during tax season. it was especially nice for the french speaking immigrants to have my dad do their taxes because he spoke french. my sisters thought i might like the flag and i was happy to accept it. i want to find a good place for it now though. i don't have a mantel!

i'm glad i had a weekend after the funeral on friday, and the very busy week last week. tomorrow i am back to my own little grind. i have to arrange the installation of a new furnace as soon as the gas lines are turned on. that will be an all day affair done outdoors in the middle of winter. winter has been mild so far, though, knock on wood. i both dread it,because i have to do a certain amount of cleaning, which i have no energy for,as well as getting it over with.

this year,i am trying a new tact in regards to todo lists. instead of berating myself and feeling hopeless as i add item after item, and get one done per week,or some other slow moving pace, and am going to see if can pare down and be less of a perfectionist and find ways to get things done even if it is not as good as i would prefer. and just give up on some things altogether. my brain is so ambitious, while also lacking in energy. 'we' gotta work together! if my body and mental state are not as they were,i need to make up for it by being clever and/or wise. i think i might keep a 'done' list to encourage myself as well.

holy cow! the denver broncos just beat the steelers in overtime...sudden death overtime,i believe. tim tebow seems like a great guy,but i still think he needs to be something other than a quarterback.apparently he had a stupendous day today,so who knows? they will be playing our patriots next week.
