3-d porno,two towers,harry potter

i went to the library today and they had a copy of harry potter/sorceror's stone on dvd so i borrowed it,since i've been wanting to see it.

i watched the quidditch scene first...i love dvd and the ease of doing things like that. now i can watch movies in the same very special way i often read...all over the place. i thought the quidditch thing was cool.fun. i've started watching from the beginning now. i read the first book only as far as the snake thing and got bored. i don't know if i'll end up reading the books...probably not as fiction doesn't often hold my interest. but the movie is pretty good so far.

i'm also excited to know that philip pullman's 'his dark materials' is not only going to be made into a movie/movies,but that tom stoppard is writing the screenplay. i really like some stuff he's done. i actually read 'the subtle knife' and loved pullman's writing. the reason i read that one was that i had a free strip copy from work and i was snowed in. at first i loved the subversiveness of it,but now i have mixed feelings about his message. but overall i like those sorts of questions.

my sister rachel thought it was funny that 'fellowship of the ring' was on my sister lise's wish list. i think it's funny too. i don't think she ever read the books and that's not why. it just doesn't seem to be her kind of thing, but i think it's cool that she wants it,because it's such a great movie.

i may go see two towers with some folks from work on sunday night.it depends on which theater they decide to go to. we all live in different places. i was hoping they'd go to the theatre down the road from me,but i doubt it because not that many people live out my way. i also found out chatting with one of the librarians today...and i think this is amazing...that a local small cool theatre that usually shows the movies you'd have to otherwise go to boston to see,is actually going to be showing two towers. should be interesting, because it's such a small place. i once went there with friends from my last job to see a 3-d porno movie. it was hilarious, set in the seventies...leisure suits,chains..
my friend marie kept making funny comments about the shrubbery (no,really...'nice ferns' she said) and then 'oh,i want to get this soundtrack.' it was a lovely evening as we first went to a diner for dinner. perfect. i never told my mom that's what i went to see, even though i was in my thirties. i just didn't want to shock her; she's so easily shocked.
