short blizzard
heard lots of u2 on the radio today. most appropriate was 'new year's day' as i drove through a whiteout in a ten-minute snow squall and almost hit someone, but thanks to my wise habit of NOT tailgating,i didn't,on my way home from visiting my mom in the nursing home. my visits often make me sad,but today more so. it's getting tougher and tougher for mom to be able to form sentences. other than that, she seems healthy although she did have one short bit of breathing difficulty and i feel so bad for her. but it seems to happen much less, and also not so much coughing,as it did a while ago,so i know she's being well taken care of there. she and i don't know what to say to each other, which is nothing new,but it's more awkward and noticable when i drive 30 miles (sometimes in crappy weather!) to go see her,but it's the thought that counts,i guess.
anyway.
i was wondering why it is that the soundtracks to both lord of the rings movies make me sad. the movies don't make me sad nor do the books. what's up with that?
