another drag queen movie i loved!

bored on a saturday night.i really want to get out and do something soon, but what? no money,no destinations...

didn't get much done on my sick day but i took the heavy kitchen garbage bag down to the dumpster. i was going to do some dusting, but i've avoided it.

i watched the movie 'flawless' with the wonderful philip seymour hoffman as a drag queen and robert deniro as his/her homodisliking retired cop neighbor who has a stroke and ends up taking singing lessons from her/him.

i absolutely loved this movie.great characters, great acting. food for thought.

i didn't do it consciously, but this is the second movie in two weeks that i've watched about drag queens and loved! (i watched priscilla queen of the desert last week because guy pearce is in it,and ended up loving the characters, the actors, the story and the joie de vivre of the movie so much that i ended up buying myself a copy!)

today i just went to the video store and as usual, had a tough time finding something that looked interesting. i've been waiting forever to see amelie but i guess it's not out yet. i want to see jason lee in silent bob and jay strike back, but i just wasn't in the mood for that today.

so i got 'flawless' and 'where the buffalo roam' with bill murray as hunter s. thompson. i've watched half of that,it's kind of funny.

it's really too bad i just can't focus on reading these days. i've got so much stuff i want to read and just feel like i 'can't'. like i can't concentrate. weird. i did flip through a few magazines thought but mostly looked at the photography.

and that's my wild and crazy saturday night. of course,i'm usually working but i just felt too poorly, especially mentally today to face it. that is a
rarity,as i love my job.

now i have two days off and it'll be laundry and grocery shopping and lunch with dad (i'll probably be too sick to eat a tuna melt, but oh well) and trying to find some videos to watch. luckily,i also can spend quite a bit of time on livejournal and a few other internet places, but i really wish i had someone to hang around with and have a great chat with.

ah,well.

this is the first post i'm putting in my quirkyalones lj community which i just created today. already two people have joined, hurrah and welcome!

i hope this post isn't too long...i've got to get the hang of the lj cut tag,but i'm not quite used to remembering the exact html so maybe i should write it down until i learn it by heart!

flawless

I never heard of that movie but will definitely look for it next week when I am in-between summer sessions.

I don't really get the LJ community thing. I joined something called bookcircle (???) but it's people trading books, not talking about them.
