i may be french canadien american on both sides of my family with a possible native great grandmother (she had a french name, but it was common to change names and you had to convert to catholicism to marry a franco-american catholic) but i swear i have a scottish soul. whatever,we're all celts.

my mom says when i was a wee lass when we were driving past this one area (here in new england) where there was a hilly, rocky farm on one side (they may have had sheep,i don't remember...may have just been cows)and a huge green hill on the other side,i'd always say 'oh,there's scotland' and i loved that part of the journey to my grandmother's.

anyway, every once in while something renews my enthusiasm for scotland...you can well believe i saw braveheart five times in the theater and got weepy a lot, plus i had a crush on hamish campbell, one of the few guys i like in long hair (a long red braid, yikes the viking influence, another enthusiasm of mine, but don't get me started!) and i know that movie by heart. my favorite part is at the end when they charge the anglish at bannockburn, and hamish throws william wallace's sword in the air and it lands with the tartan strip blowing in the breeze.the look on his face...

and of course my favorite character in titanic was the poor doomed murdoch.

but this time blame it on billy boyd and lord of the rings.i just saw this movie for the first time a couple of weeks ago. and i almost fell off my chair when i heard pippin speak. omigod,a glaswegian! now i have two favorite glaswegians...both named billy. the other is billy connolly.i always referred to billy as having my favorite accent in the universe,at least so far.of course,if anyone has been reading me for long, you know i love ewan mcgregor.i love his natural accent too,but i don't think he's from glasgow.actually i think he's from crieff, but i don't know where the hell that is,but his accent is lovely but not quite the same.

anyway,i swoon when i hear a glaswegian say 'it's grrrreat'.

so,ladeda,i decided to read some interviews at billyboyd.net and then i find out...(i'm gonna faint)...that they are on realplayer (and my webtv actual has realplayer in it's browser) and i get to HEAR the interviews. be still my racing heart...
it's grrrreat!!!!

how old is too old to be a fangirl?
