i'm in love (sly grin)

ah,'reckoning' by r.e.m. it was released in the spring of '84. i remember it well.i used to listen to it over and over on my walkman on my trek to work...which at first was ten minutes,but then i changed jobs and then it was a 40 minute walk,as i preferred walking to taking the bus and i had no car at the time.(used to live in a small city that actually had bus service...not on sundays though!)
and,wow,it still sounds soooo amazing.it's atmospheric,moody,full of soul.
it also has the song they wrote for me for my thirtieth birthday (which didn't happen until four years later)though they didn't know it,called 'little america'.
'diane is on the beach/will you realize the life she's led?'
they even mention the name of the town i grew up in...i kid you not.though it's a common town name,but still...cool.
and by the way,happy samhain!
