a little musing as i steep some peppermint tea to make my apartment smell better

it feels like my neighborhood is constantly under construction. probably because it is. philosophically speaking,isn't life always under construction? change is good,except when it isn't,and i'm not a fan because i see more of the latter. depression,when not too acute,is closer to reality than optimism,but it's not very useful. the danger of unbridled optimism,though,is that sometimes one loses compassion. 'just get over it' or 'you'd feel better if you took a walk'. maybe,maybe not. i have been diagnosed with asperger's and allegedly aspies have less empathy. i don't know about that. i think i have more than the so called neurotypical.
